Transitions of PA offered a Medical Advocacy Internship to Hannah Freezer that provided a unique opportunity for her to work with the Health Systems Training Specialist to research, create, and distribute materials and information to healthcare professionals and facilities regarding Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, and Stalking prevention and intervention. It is an excellent opportunity for her to gain practical skills and learn about working in social services and on related projects and trainings for medical professionals in that field. It also was an opportunity for her to combine the duties and responsibilities of the agency’s work with clients and their direct service needs in her specific position. Hannah was a hardworking, kind, and enthusiastic individual. She showed commitment to her work and was always eager to help others. She was a delightful addition to our team. Hannah demonstrated enthusiasm for helping others by completing tasks and taking the initiative to lead assignments. She inspired and encouraged kids throughout the educational camps we held this summer.

I feel compelled to write this testimonial to recommend Hannah Freezer for her next step in life. Hannah’s strength to overcome challenges, communication abilities, and organizational skills will allow her to succeed in whatever she puts her mind to. Hannah was an intern in our organization, and she was a positive asset to our summer camps as well as office work this past summer. Hannah is highly capable of following directions and going above and beyond what is requested of her. Hannah is personable and a highly motivated worker. I recommend Hannah Freezer.

To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter supporting Ms. Hannah Freezer as she pursues employment opportunities. Ms. Freezer is a Communications major at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania with a minor in Public Health Education. Hannah is self-directed, engaging, and seeks appropriate feedback for her work.

Hannah was a student in three courses I teach: Foundations of School and Community Health Education, Cultural Aspects of Health, and Community Health Methods and Strategies. This last course is dedicated to health communication: large group presentations, oral patient education, motivational interviewing, and developing written patient education materials. Hannah revised her work accordingly and enthusiastically participated in the many practice sessions for oral and written patient communication. Hannah was at ease when communicating health information and was able to relate well with others. She demonstrated respect and patience when participating in role plays.

Hannah desires to work in the field of health communication. Her public health minor has given her a solid foundation in public health principles and communicating health information on interpersonal and community levels. I have observed her ability to work in small groups as well as to convey health information in ways that are patient-oriented and respectful. Hannah’s disposition and work ethic will serve her well in her desired profession, and I have no doubts that she will be successful in her long-term endeavors. I fully support her employment and academic opportunities. I recommend her and request that you consider such opportunities fully. Please get in touch with me should you desire more information.

Sincerely, Kathleen Allison, PhD, MPH, MCHES®

Professor at Lock Haven University
